The Launch - Part 2

Last month I announced that I just launched a new companion website at www.hunt-junkies.com and the response has been nice.

Following that lead, this month I launch the re-release of the russellgraves.com Photo Minute series.  I launched the first Photo Minute last spring as a test balloon to see the response and the feedback was absolutely generous.  Therefore after months of planning and the wonderful folks at Wolf Camera agreeing to be the title sponsor, the Photo Minute launches full force.

While there is not a set release schedule, I think it's reasonable to expect that a new episode will launch every three to four weeks and will feature all sorts of photo tips and tricks - not just ones about wildlife photography.  This is my way of giving back and helping people who are as passionate about photography as I am.

Therefore, if you have any ideas on topics, let me know and I'll definitely get them in the loop.

While you are reading this newsletter and I have your attention, let me just take a moment to say thank you for all of your support throughout the year.  As time goes on, opportunities continue to present themselves in ways I never could have imagined.  As such, I always try and give back by being quick to provide e-mail assistance, free photo seminars, photo tips in the newsletter and the Photo Minute, and in-the-field photography opportunities.

We live in a wonderful country when you can truly do what you love for a living.  For making that possible, I thank you.

Have a Merry Christmas,

Russell A. Graves

Photo Tip

Way back when, I used to own a couple of really cool film cameras dedicated to shooting panoramic images.  Today though, every digital camera does panoramic so long as you use proper technique and photo stitching software.  The software part is easy as my Canon cameras come supplied with it.  For panoramics, I prefer to shoot with a 35mm wide angle lens, hold the camera vertically, and shoot lots of overlapping images.

December Photo Feature

Here's a cool blog entry I posted a couple of weeks ago.  This entry is about an old deer stand I built and my return to it more than twenty years later.

There's nothing like the sounds of a fast retriever in a duck marsh.  December promises to bring lots of action my way and I can't wait to bring it to you.

Facebook Growth

Wow!  In short order, the russellgraves.com Facebook page grew exponentially in November.  I've found the Facebook page a great way to communicate upcoming events, interact with everyone, and post new pictures and projects.
