There’s a reason the sport is called “hunting.”  Fickle weather makes for even more fickle birds and the hunting is tough.

Pulling out all the stops, some manage success on the slick-minded toms. 

Others find their salvation in the over-abundant brush country feral hogs.

When the final night falls on my Realtree Road Trip I am exhausted but at the same time, refreshed.  The friendships I kindle on this trip, like the memories, are ones that will last forever.  Six people convened from different corners of the country.  All of us have different life experiences but three days on the Halff Brothers Ranch solidify our bond.  We all arrived here as strangers but leave, thanks to the challenge of wild country, as brush country brothers.
