People come from all over the country to the part of Texas whose population is sparse but a land whose history is thick with tales of Comanche wars, great cattle ranches, and bison hunters.  When they come, they bring much need income to cash strapped municipalities who struggle to hang on when fickle weather and agricultural markets leave no certainty for the future.  Like clockwork, though, every fall people do come...

As long as good dogs exists and bobwhites still sound their familiar call from the brush, wingshooters will still come to the Texas Rolling Plains.  Like the people in this part of Texas, bobwhite quail (although down in most of the state) are resilient and bounce back even after years wrought with unforgiving droughts and near intolerable winds.

Resilience is the legacy of the Rolling Plains.
